Why NEET PG 2025 Cutoff Was Revised: Vacant Seats, Budget Reality and Round 3 Outcomes

After Round 1 and Round 2 NEET PG 2025 counselling, nearly 9000 postgraduate medical seats remained vacant across Government, Deemed Universities, Clinical and Non Clinical branches. This unusually high vacancy forced authorities to intervene to prevent large scale seat wastage in the 2025–26 academic session.

To address this, the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW) in consultation with the National Medical Commission (NMC) approved a major reduction in the qualifying percentile before Round 3 counselling. This change expanded eligibility for thousands of candidates.

NEET PG Round 3 Importance

Round 3 is now a crucial turning point for many candidates due to revised eligibility. Thousands of students who were previously out of counselling are now eligible.

Instead of guessing outcomes, candidates should rely on structured tools and preparation systems.
