Former Miss American Fork Brynn Carnesecca has died at age 21. Learn about her pageant journey, journalism career, community service, and the legacy she leaves behind.

Brynn Carnesecca, the former Miss American Fork 2024 and a rising young journalist from Utah, has died at the age of 21. Known for her dedication to community service, storytelling, and helping others, Brynn’s life touched many people throughout her community and beyond.

According to her family, Brynn died by suicide on Sunday. Her mother, Michele Carnesecca, shared that she hopes her daughter will be remembered not only for the circumstances of her death, but for the meaningful life she created through kindness, leadership, and service.

“She is more than what happened to her,” Michele said, emphasizing that Brynn’s accomplishments, relationships, and positive influence represent the true story of her life.

A candlelight vigil was held at the American Fork Amphitheater to honor Brynn’s memory, bringing together friends, family members, community leaders, and people whose lives were impacted by her work.

A Bright Presence in the Miss American Fork and Miss Utah Community

Brynn Carnesecca earned the title of Miss American Fork in 2024, beginning a journey that highlighted her passion for leadership and community involvement. During the Miss Utah competition, she was recognized by fellow contestants with the Miss Congeniality Award, an honor that reflected her supportive personality and the connections she built with others.

The Miss Utah Scholarship Organization remembered Brynn as someone who brought positivity and warmth to both the Miss Utah and Miss American Fork programs. In a statement, the organization highlighted her kindness, friendship, and commitment to serving people across Utah.

The current Miss American Fork titleholder also shared a tribute, remembering Brynn as someone who offered encouragement, celebrated others, and made people feel valued. She described Brynn’s impact as leaving a lasting example for future titleholders.

Brynn Carnesecca’s Commitment to Community Service

Beyond pageantry, Brynn dedicated much of her time to creating programs designed to bring people together and encourage understanding.

During her Miss Utah service initiative, Brynn founded Envelopes of Hope, a program focused on connecting community members with incarcerated individuals through written letters. The goal of the project was to create opportunities for empathy, conversation, and human connection.

Brynn previously explained that the program helped people understand different life experiences and encouraged meaningful relationships between individuals who might otherwise never interact.

Through Envelopes of Hope, she hoped to show that communication and compassion could create positive change. The project became one of the most important examples of her belief in service and the power of kindness.

The Utah Miss Amazing organization, where Brynn volunteered as a “buddy,” also honored her contributions. The organization said her compassion and genuine care for others made a lasting impression on everyone she met.

A Young Journalist With a Passion for Storytelling

In addition to her service work, Brynn built a promising career in journalism. She used storytelling as a way to highlight people, share important community issues, and give others a voice.

Brynn worked with several Utah publications and gained experience through internships and reporting opportunities. Her journalism work included contributions to the American Fork Citizen, Lehi Free Press, and Brigham Young University’s Daily Universe.

She also completed internships with Utah Valley Magazine, Good Things Utah, and KSL. During her time in journalism, Brynn was recognized as someone who cared deeply about the stories she covered and the people behind them.

Her reporting reflected the same qualities that defined her community work: curiosity, empathy, and a desire to connect with others.

Remembering Brynn’s Many Talents

Friends, family, and supporters have remembered Brynn not only for her achievements but also for her personality, creativity, and dedication.

A memorial fundraising campaign described her as an accomplished pianist, journalist, and the creator of Envelopes of Hope. The campaign was created to help support funeral expenses and memorial arrangements for her family.

Supporters have contributed to honor Brynn’s memory and recognize the positive influence she had during her 21 years.

While her passing has brought deep sadness to those who knew her, many have chosen to focus on the impact she made. Her work in journalism, pageantry, volunteer service, and community outreach continues to represent the values she cared about.

Brynn Carnesecca’s Legacy of Kindness and Connection

Brynn Carnesecca’s story is one of achievement, compassion, and dedication to others. From earning the title of Miss American Fork to creating a service initiative and pursuing journalism, she spent much of her life encouraging connection between people.

Those who knew Brynn describe her as someone who supported others, celebrated their successes, and looked for ways to make her community stronger.

Her legacy will continue through the people she inspired, the programs she created, and the stories she shared.

As family members and friends remember Brynn, they hope her life will be viewed through the lens of her kindness, creativity, and commitment to helping others.
